London Fashion Week as it's supposed to be seen, on Sky HD

hdfashionweek.jpg

Last week, Sky captured the London Fashion Week in high definition and you can check out a short highlights video in HD, which can be downloaded from the Sky HD site. That means if there are any flaws in the models faces, you'll be able to see them in all their glory. Oh, and you can see lots of details in the outfits too.

Sky HD To Revolutionise London Fashion Week 2006

In an unprecedented move that is set to revolutionise the way we view fashion and following hot on the footsteps of New York Fashion Week, Sky will be filming all of the BFC shows in high definition.

For those people not lucky enough to have a ticket to one of the private shows, the HD footage of the shows will be screened at the Selfridges Ultralounge on the Lower Ground Floor of the Oxford Street store.

For the first time, all the collections on show in the BFC tent throughout the week will be filmed in High Definition and screened on HD screens each day including in the London Fashion Week press office, BFC Lounge, Canon Lounge and at Selfridges Ultralounge. Designers to look out for include Biba, John Rocha, Zandra Rhodes, Ben de Lisi, Amanda Wakeley, Garani Strok and PPQ.

Sky HD launched earlier this year delivering viewers four times the picture quality of standard definition TV. HD is well-suited to capture the tiny and perhaps previously unnoticed details of fabrics, stitches, sequins, and brilliant colours in near perfect clarity.

Hilary Riva from the British Fashion Council commented “Sky HD allows us to capture the shows in a way that is incredibly true-to-life, showing every tiny detail, fabric texture and colour-gradation. This is a great way to communicate fashion to those who are not there to see it live. We are pleased to be showcasing this remarkable new technology at London Fashion Week.
